Yoyogi Park, Shibuya Crossing and Porn

So no shows today...

Instead we went through a few hours of the footage we've already shot. We're going to be watching our "dailies" in the mornings so we know what kind of footage we got, and we can mark sequences that are particularly interesting for the upcoming editing process.

In other news, I tried to not spend a single yen today...and I was on a role until this evening...when we met up with a few friends of friends for drinks and some dinner. Hot diggity, this place eats up cash faster then a hooker with a blow problem.

I have found that I really dig miso sauce. It's the bomb. It's got a little kick to it, but its very tasty. You often dip veggies in it. Here's a little cabbage and miso sauce platter:
And here's a beef and pan-fried noodle with pickled ginger dish. Not too shabby for bar food, eh? We got these at a little dive bar type place. It's common to eat small dishes at these places. They're called izikaya me thinks. But me is not certain.

But lemme back up a minute. Before we hit up this place, we walked from our place to meet a friend from UVM at a train station. Here's the street we took to get there:

Then we hit up Yoyogi park after also meeting Lewis' other friend Moko. This park is the type of place I'd love to get lost and spend an entire day. There were little pathways through the trees, and drummers playing congas and ponds and rivers with bridges. Supposedly there's a giant shrine in one part of the park which is one of the largest pre-WWII shrines still around. I'll have to scope that out sometime soon. Anyway here's a few shots:

After hanging there for a while, we moved on to the other extreme...Shibuya Crossing:

And as my memory card came to it's last shot, I caught this photo of Lewis checking out the kinkier side of Tokyo...good thing I ran out of memory...har har har...

Anyhow, another big day of shooting tomorrow. Interview and show and we're also meeting a translator to see if he's down with helping out for a few interviews...

Off to bed.

Kompai! (Cheers!)
